Logitech Harmony series of smart remotes do wonderful things for you home entertainment system experience.I call these items peacemakers. They take all your components that just don't coexist and make them get along. No more wondering which remote goes to what. Everything will be at your fingertips in one device. The new 600 and 650 series of remotes offer the best value amongst the current Harmony lineup.

The Logitech Harmony 650 remote, available for around $99, has a limit of controlling only five devices. If this is a problem you may want to consider upgrading to the 700 series.

The remote fits comfortably in the hand and the button layout is very easy to figure out. Dedicated buttons up top are handy, up and down arrows make for easy scrolling through DVR menus, and the row of colored buttons is great for everything from console game controls.

The device is backlit and will light up once you pick it up. However it's not very sensitive and may require a shake to get it to work.

Like most remotes, setting up the 5650 can be a problem. I have yet to find a multi-device remote that's not. I guess it's the price to pay for comfort. However once you a finished with the set up, you'll be thrilled with the results.
